Hi SKK, it is not really required to have finger printed to get teh EAD approval. (i am talking aboutthe first time EAD). Your FP may come later on. At least in my case it was like that. I got my EAD approval first and later on only the FP came. Hope this helps ...

I have a question from members who are getting ADIT Processing message. When did you file your I-485's? I am trying to figure out if USCIS is approving cases for those who filed recently w/o waiting for the ADIT or is it that the case was filed long time back and the previous ADIT has expired.

As we get closer to election day it seems that Democrats will have control of the Congress. All the polls that have been and are being conducted show that the Democrats are leading the Republicans by double digits.
If Democrats win the CIR will get through but the there will be a huge backlog as there arent enough people at USCIS to do the work, which in a way is retrogession. There will be relief for people with advanced degrees but on paper only.As it will still take years for their paperwork to get through USCIS, others will be in a worse situation as the waiting line would be huge.
If Republicans win there will be no CIR as pointed out by others in the thread. However, SKIL might get through and that will help shorten the waiting period for people without advanced degrees.
Based on my analysis (which might be completely wrong), I think we are better off with Republicans.

So while Skill will go through Senate, it will be again blocked in house like it was in Dec2005........ So bottomline is that I would rather have some bill passed and have a hope in sight than no bill and never know if one will ever get GC

That's the reason I said if we at least get 1000 members then we can ask core members and get their help. members should seriously think if they can make it before they saying yes.. I think even Friday option works as member can take long weekend and spend weekend in DC. We will also get to know all IV members.

out of 45K members let's assume 22.5 K are EB2 and 22.5 K are EB3.
Even If 11.25K (EB2)+11.25K (EB3) = 22.5 K (Total) contributes $25 Each Problems gets solved ... but the catch is ....
Even 11.25 K EB2 members are not contributing because they don't have to as their problem is solved

All I am saying is dont you idiots understand that the constant stress and pressure being faced by us with these dates going back and forth. keep them constant at a particular date, finish processing them and then move them one day at a time. then we will know when we will get the green cards. why move foraward give some one from 2006 green card and then push it to 2000 (who the f**k does not know that there is no one there in 2000).

On one of my teams; there was a super star supervisor. He was accused of having inappropriate e-mails.
HR wanted him fired and opened up a big investigation. His manager comes to me and tells me that we have to do everything possible to save him as he is a very key person and irreplaceable.
I went upto HR with my boss to tell them that this particular person could not be fired under any circumstance and that we should let this indiscretion go.
They should be and my boss the e-mails. The e-mails basically were so male chaveunistic and racist. I probably had sent these types of funny jokes in my career and so had my boss and probably so have all of us. We didn't think it was a big deal when taken in context but we had to risk our own credibility and fight with HR to save him. In the process of doing so; we would have lost our credibility with the evidence against him. Even if we fought it; we would have still lost but it would have stained our reputation with HR area by trying to fight for this guy.
Now; senators/congressmen who don't have much knowledge and you present to them why the country quota, etc., should be changed; will be given evidence through their research of what is going on with h-1b, labors in fast procesing states, etc., In this environment where there is sentiment against immigration it will fall on deaf ears and maybe even skew things in the future for you with the politicians because they are getting insight into this stuff at the wrong time.
Take my example of adopting newphew. As I said this isn't the only case; when they start seeing that number of people from India is due to many causes (arranged marriage and adding dependents always from India after they arrive here; staffing companies, h-1b violations, etc, etc.,); the circumstances are not on your side. This is the fourth recession I am living through in this country. In just about each one; immigrants bore a dispropritanate share of blame for the countries ills.

Because from my experinece you can't even talk to an IO in TSC.. You can only talk to a customer rep if your case is in TSC..
Unless ofcourse your meant IO was the same as a "customer rep" from National customer service.
IOs at TSC are responding to the enquiry of your case i.e they give info about name check status.
But in NSC the IOs are not giving any information, they are just saying they can't tell anything.This happened to me two times since last week.Does any one got same experience with NSC?

I agree, another argument in support is that if the situation of skilled legal immigrants does not improve many of them may consider other options like Canada, Australia, UK, NZ or even going back home. The employers most likely will outsource the jobs to other countries and once that happens that position is permanently gone from US. Hoewver, if an immigrant is working here the position is still here in US and can be taken by a citizen or a resident here if the immigrant workers leaves the job position.

This myth has never been successfully countered in the media or any other PR or lobbying channel by the legal immigration crowd.
The standard line amounts to this:
We are highly skilled we are legal and we are stuck and dont deserve this.
This is not good PR. Nobody cares about this.. it will get us nowhere..
We need to have a standard message apart from all other humint crap..
1) legals cannot undercut US jobseekers because of strict labor laws. Employers are paying a premium in wages as well as legal fees to retain their legal alien workforce. IT would be foolhardy of them to go through the hassle if local talent was easily available.
2) legals are in most cases paying taxes for which they may never realize the benifits like social security.
We need to let it be known in a firm polite manner that
1) we are giving more than we are getting and are not free loaders
2) we are not harming or displacing anyone.
